That's the color I hope to someday park next to my Diamond Blue 87.

Hi guys, I've been all over the western US for the past couple months. Hectic, but orderly. Haven't had any 928 commentary to spread so been off the board.
J called me 4 hours before the end of auction and I was gonna take a stab at it, but the price was just way to high for me to mess with. $15k with $4-5k catch up work needed isn't anything I feel like messing with. If there was even a smidge of current mx done like top end, or TB/WP, or evidence of regular mx I would have gone near $10k. Nice car, but it got full retail consideration, and that's just not me.
I have a black in the paint shop right now, and I'm strongly considering changing color and just do my Cassisrot and make up a burgundy interior from what I have. I don't think it would improve my value at all over triple black, but at least I would have a nicely sorted car, in the color I want. We'll see.
Congrats to the seller, he sucked every dollar out of that car.

It didn’t sell... didn’t meet the reserve.

OK, just - wow. No sale at $14250 is ludicrous. This car isn't 'for sale' it's just listing because his wife said 'sell that damn Porsche'. It's never gonna get any better. Jeez

Black is the best color for color change IMO.. Omitting the engine bay is fair game. Just pull the fenders and properly edge them, plus the fender hardware. Spray the tops of the upper rails and tie bar while the fenders are off. The rest is very straightforward. Not very much more work than what we did for Brad's '85 Euro.

The big job for repaint color change is actually the doors. They need to come off, and the seals should be removed. The fenders are pretty easy to prep and change but the doors and the hatch are going to be a bit more work. Talking to the painter right now, we'll see what he says. Already have removed the rub strips. This is a good time to roll the fenders also.
