Hey gang,
87S4 gage & door lights just stopped working. Was changing the drivers door window motor. Was working after I took door card off. I had it idling several times during this repair without issue.
I also had drivers seat out. I checked fuse 7 and it’s good. Any ideas are appreciated.

Although you almost certainly blew that fuse when working on the door card, for those reading along, if this fuse blows spontaneously at some point, a common source for that problem is the overhead/reading light. It can fracture with old age allowing the electrical contacts to short against the roof. Seen this when a buddy driving along suddenly lost gauges (and interior lights), as you did. Replaced fuse 24 and it blew again immediately. Pulled down the overhead light, put in another fuse, and he had his gauges and lights back, just needing to replace the overhead light to prevent it from contacting the roof panel.

Great info to remember. Thanks
