Default Replacing Quarter Window Trim?

Had my windows re-tinted but they snapped a trim piece in the process.

Is there a write-up out there that describes how to replace it? Or can you describe the process?

Also, can I buy just the upper trim strip?

Thanks as always!

The good news is the piece is 928 543 419 10 70K, and costs less than $30. The bad news is it's a screaming beyotch to get it installed into the quarter window seal channel and under both corner pieces without first removing the window from the car. You can struggle to get it in, in place, or you can pull the quarter window and refit it.

How good is the window tinting place at R&R'ing 928 quarter windows?

With the window in place, that's the easier of the two to slide in. Still a b&tch though. I used soapy water to help slide it along. And gloves

How did they break it? That window doesn’t have to come out at all to be tinted?

I never recommend installing these with the glass in. I know it's been done with varying levels of success.

It could be as little as 45 minutes to rope out the 1/4 glass. Indefinite timeline on trying to install trim with glass in situ. Pull the back seat. Unbolt the seat belt from the body. Back all the Phillips screws out. Pop the retaining clips free and wiggle out the interior quarter panel.

Now the entire seal is in plain view.
