On my 85 they shut off when the door closes and makes the switch, just replaced the PS door one - and stood on my head enough times to verify...

If you need replacement bulbs, they are BA9s or BA9 12V 2 watt incandescent bulbs.,Here is an example:: https://www.lightingsupply.com/stand...d48a292fe17fcc

If you want the appropriate bulb in LED, here is one source (but many others, I'm sure):
