Default What is this color?

This is on my 1978 928 9288200576. I don't think it's Minerva or petrol. It looks to me like caribe blue I saw in a sales brochure but nowhere else.

The white is GPW, what's the blue? Flash used on this pic.

These are taken in daylight.

That crossed my mind but I don't see any metallic in it.

It was available as a standard color option for MY78 as well. Not sure why it is thought that there were no 30T 928s until MY79.

According to the Porsche booklet on colors available for '78 on their website it is not listed. Doesn't necessarily mean it wasn't available as a special order however.

It was actually available as a standard color, not special order. A lot of that information is wrong from Porsche. Example: The color in my avatar - 811. It shows that it wasn't available until MY85. The car in my avatar is MY84 and there are original 811 cars going back to at least MY82. Conversely, I have never seen a MY85+ 811 P car.

Can't verify that the car from the link is actually MY78, but I wouldn't be surprised.

I'd be very happy if it is hellblau. How can one be sure? I hear the COA/PPS from Porsche isn't reliable(!). Can the paint be scanned and analyzed?

I would be very happy about having a 30T MY78, also. It would be rare as hen's teeth to have a MY78 30T survivor. AFAIK, there are no credible reference materials from Porsche for verification. If the car were in front of me, I could verify its original color in less than 15 minutes. 100% verification would require feather edging, so not without invasive effort.

You could settle on a 99% verification, right? Does the car have a sunroof?

Yes, 99% would be great! No sunroof.
