Default Is this cam any good?

Chipped end- is the cam still useful?

What caused this stutter pattern? Is on every lobe.
Is from a 1981 928 US car.

I can't imagine that chip hurting anything. The washer on the camshaft will keep the key from moving forward.

The lobes are ground. It's really common for there to be tiny "witness" marks left over from grinding/machining metal pieces. It's normal.

My DS camshaft is chipped in a very similar spot with no issues.

In that case it's for sale! Best offer.

PO says it's from an 81 US car. Will try to post pics of numbers on cam. I have no idea what it's worth but am open to trades. I need brake lines, Hella headlights, a radiator, A/C compressor.

The PO informed me today that he found the pair to this cam (81 US car). So I can offer a matched pair for $750/OBO. Open to trades as noted above (2 or 4 good 225/50-16 summer tires, radiator, A/C compressor, brake lines, Hella H4s). In south-central PA.
