Dr Bob.... nope,I dont think you missed it. My thread was a spinoff from my older thread on this issue and other issues I had getting the car running . Looking back on my notes from a while back, all cylinders had tested out around 135-140 psi. Not great but consistent. After running the test I had called the local Porsche shop and they felt that given the age and mileage ( 95000 miles) the numbers were not unusual. However I am going to run the test again this week. I,m pretty sure that I only pulled the plug on the cylinder I was testing and I know it wasnt at full throttle, so the numbers may be skewed. The misfire I,m experiencing could be a couple burnt valves? It does seem to have a slight " pop" from the exhaust as part of the misfire. Chuck

I have owned a few US MY80-84 cars. I haven't made a new acquisition of one of this model type in 7 years, but the first items I usually serviced were:
1. All of the grounds. Checked for measurable "voltage drop" across the ground straps.
2. Disassembled the + battery connector. Cleaned it thoroughly along with the small wires.
3. Evaluated/Replaced the "Green wire".
4. Disconnected and thoroughly cleaned the ballast resistor connection points.
5. Check vacuum.
6. Check fuel pressure.
If running issues still persist beyond this list, I would then inspect both fuel dampers and pressure regulator. Then, I would start into the list of L-Jetronic diagnostics after verifying timing, spark, and compression.

Ok...Dr Bob......I re-checked my compression as you had suggested. The car was warm...pulled all plugs...injector relay pulled...cranked at wot........and here are pics of the plugs and the results above each plug. Not too thrilled with my numbers. I think last year I got better numbers because test was run cold and I pulled 1 plug at a time. I dont know, kind of have a feeling things are not all well here. I would feel better if all #s were the same but that 95psi really threw me. I ran it 4 times to verify. That was on # 6 which has not been a cylinder in question...7 and 8 had me worried.
