It's official. It's happening!

The usual 3rd weekend of October. October 18th, 19th, and 20th.

We have a host Hotel, arranged by Joseph Fan, who has always been a great supporter of Sharktoberfest (and an avid 928 guy.)
This location will be the Crowne Plaza Hotel, in Costa Mesa. Joseph will have rooms blocked out for us, with a great price. He's going to provide us with a place to gather on Friday night, complete with food, and a place to buy refreshments. He will arrange to have an area in the parking lot with water, soap, buckets, and towels to clean your cars after the drive. The Hotel is 9 miles from my shop....straight down the 55 fwy.

I'l have more details about the Hotel on Monday.

Porsche Classic has confirmed they will be coming....to tell us what they are doing/what their future plans are (for 928's.)

There's a ton of really good restaurants close to this Hotel.....although we had a fantastic meal at the local German Club, last year (Phoenix Club.) I'm torn between finding something local to the Hotel and having German food. Anyone have any input?

Went with Vanster and a few other 928'rs to Oktoberfest @ The Phoenix Club 4-5 years ago and it was a blast. T

 

Just to throw ideas out there we could do a lab on how to properly convert a car to R134.

 

Really great to see GB is picking up the torch to sustain this iconic 928 gathering. Hopefully Mark is just taking a year off. After all, this is his business. Is he retiring?

Regarding booking a room at the Crown Plaza hotel...it there a password or something that lets booking know that we are part of a group?

Glad to do it. I'll just need a table (6' ft is fine) to put the printer on with access to a power strip. Also if you had a gallon of Isopropyl alcohol I could use that would save me having to travel with it. If not no worries. I can pick some up locally.

Thanks, Randy! I cannot tell you how much I miss Bill! It was always so much fun to wrench with him.

At this time I don't know, if I can make it to Sharktoberfest. Too many things happening...

Oh did we ever. It was sad to see him leave but he always was always willing to return. Hopefully he'll make it to the next sharks in the park.
