I converted my L-Jet 81 to LH / EZF, hindsight I should have went with AEM but at the time just seemed like something fun to do.
There was a 'no start' thread reasonably recently (month or 2 or 3) where someone who knows what he's talking about (not sure who) said that if the EZF wasn't functioning, the LH wouldn't turn on. I did a quick search but didn't find it.

So, if I read it right (and remember correctly), they are tied together.

Or it's entirely possible that I misread it or my memory is faulty.

That makes sense, you are not wrong but in the discussion at hand it doesn't really apply but I completely see why it would seem that way.

The crank sensor signal goes to the EZF, then passes on to the LH. So yes the if the EZF if kaput, that will effect the LH. But, if you want to eliminate one and go with a different system, just need to make sure that signal wire is sent to the remaining computer.

LH / EZK is a bit more complicated in the same discussion. I'd have to rack my brain a bit to recall that scenario since at one time we thought about putting that on my 81 instead, but the additional work of adding the HAL sensor I didn't feel like diving into. Hindsight I should have, it's much easier to Sharktune that system.

If you’re doing a megasquirt conversion, can you measure load in three ways and blend them? That would be both cool and also help with diagnosing and tuning. I’m thinking (1) alpha-N which takes the throttle plate angle and adjusts it with the ambient temperature and pressure correction, (2) speed density which takes manifold absolute pressure and temperature corrects that, and (3) MAF which takes the mass flow and divides it by rpm. That would be a cool project to tune it with all three load methods and the blend them into an average.

Well, next Saturday 5th October will be Sharktoberfest at Garage de Loods in Den Dolder near Utrecht. I will be there until 11 am. So I'm on the road again heading to Rotterdam or Breda after that. Please keep me posted on your plans.
