Folks - I just a few days ago bought an '82 928. I will give you a proper introduction to it at a later date. It's in really good shape, only 44k miles, but it does have some issues. The one I want to talk about today is the fact that the glove box will not open. I have turned the lock cylinder both ways and it does not seem to make a difference.
I tried the search function here and could not find anything on this problem. Cab anyone out there point me in the right direction?
Thanks!
Mark

False alarm - as it turns out, the glovebox door requires significantly more force to open then I would have originally thought. With the key horizontal, I gave it a good tug and it opens.

I get that occasionally on my 81. I have discovered that it is much easier for me to open it from behind the steering wheel than on the passenger side. No clue why, but it is true for me.

You should probably adjust the latch.
It is held in by 2 phillips screws in the top of the box and allows it to slide in and out.for adjustment.
Try moving it a bit more out towards you to make it easier to latch.
