Default Powder Coat Inside Manifold?

Guys - Do you typically powder coat inside the intake runners? I just got my intake manifold and valve covers back from my powder coated and asked them to only media blast the intake runners and not coat them. Thoughts?

Lots of guys block off the inside of the plenum so as not to get any media inside. I was one that did not. but I spent hours picking out any particles of media and power washing. Now to answer your question...No, I do not recall anyone coating the inside of their plenum. I didn't, just made sure that they were clean. What was the media that was used? You can search the methods used to clean out their intakes.

Thank you kindly for the prompt response. I will definitely make sure the innards are whistle clean of any media before installing them.
My best,
Yasin

Yasin, I am assuming that you will be doing a complete upper end refresh since you have gotten this far. I would suggest taking a look at Dwaynes garage http://dwaynesgarage.norcal928.org/1...%20Refresh.htm . he also has other important step by step proceedures that you may like. He did a fantastic job, easy to follow.

I didn't have the insides of mine powder coated. Both my powder coating guy and I put a lot of effort into making sure no abrasive stuff was left behind - you are aware of the severe penalty for not doing so?

My guy will do a light coat on the inside after giving it a good cleaning, followed up by more cleaning by him and then me.

Here's what I did to make sure my cam towers and intake were clean after powdercoating.
