Default Name and price these wheels

I'm thinking about taking these off my 1989 928GT and replacing them with the C2s that came on the car. The current tires are 225s on the front and 245s on the rear; I think the '89 GT came from the factory with 255s on the rears (PO made a choice I wouldn't have made in reducing the amount of rubber on the road).

Any idea 1) what they are (notice where the valve stem exits)?
2) what a fair price for them might be? Could I expect to trade straight-up for a set of C2s?

Thanks,
Mark.

Are they a true 3-piece or are the bolts for show?

Mark your 89 GT came with very special forged wheels 8x16 front 9x16 rears they look like wheels used on the 89-94 Carrera 911 BUT are not . I am not sure what your rims are now , looks like a cast one piece wheel made to look like a three piece by adding bolts . The correct rims are difficult to find and expensive .

Mark, Do you have the widths and offsets of these wheels?
The 8/9' forged wheels Jim mentioned are on the darker car in the avatar to the left - a second set has yet to be found.

Hacker-Pschorr / Jim: How can I tell whether the bolts are real or for show?
Jim / Garth: any bigger pictures of the correct 89 GT wheels?

Thanks,
Mark.

Mark , if the spokes of the center blend down and back seamlessly into the inner wheel rim half and there are no exposed nuts on the inside of the wheel for all those bolts showing on the face . Then it would be a one piece cast wheel dressed up to look like a three piece wheel . The correct 89 GT (not 90 or 91) wheel is so rare I do not have a photo in our on line store !!

Bernard:

I am continually amazed by the breadth and depth of my own ignorance. I found the photo on wheelenhancement.com. That's what I was, for some reason, calling a C2 wheel.

Is there a new style lock [something else to add to my next parts order], and what do you mean by "properly index those wheels"? An archive search for index & wheels turned up precious little.

Jim:
The spokes don't blend seamlessly into the rim. I'll go feel them up and see if there are exposed nuts as soon as the baby's asleep.

Garth:
Can I measure the widths and offsets with the wheels on the car?

Thanks, all.

Mark.

This is my best guess:

My favorite wheels are the Fikse Mach Vs:

Have you removed one of the wheels and looked for identification on the inner rim?

David,

I've seen those; they don't have the valve stem coming through a notch in the rim.

I haven't looked for identification inside the wheels. Maybe tomorrow.

Thanks, all.

Your wheels are obviously multi piece wheels, you can see the outer polished rim bolted onto a painted center piece. The question is is it a cast or forged center? Nice looking wheels.

Okay, wheel gurus. What do these pics (of the inside of the front wheel) tell you about the wheels?

(I know, "they're made in Japan!")

Thanks,
Mark

Thanks, Jim. If I need a very badly bent spare, I know who to ask!

Are these CS wheels? It says 7.5 and 9 X 16.

Devek sells original flat dish wheels (forged) that have been machined to the Design 90 larger holes, and allow more air to the brakes. Pretty good deal. They appear just as the one in the post on this thread. FYI.
