Sunroof what the?
Taking a ride to the car show I opened the sunroof which gets fully open in about 5 seconds. When I tried to close it there was no movement. I see the electric gauge move under load when trying to open it at full stop (and the motor turns), but see no gauge movement when engaging the open position of the switch. This tells me that there is no load from the roof open position of the switch. Is there a fuse for the sunroof or something I am missing?

If you aren't seeing the volt meter move when you push 'close', the switch is likely the issue.
Try pushing a little bit harder while wiggling the switch around.
Taking the switch out, popping the cover off & cleaning the insides is a good idea, too.

i had the push hard issue a few weeks ago out of nowhere. i popped the switch out and shot some deoxit into it and five minutes later it seemed to behaving normally again
(edit: first i sprayed some normal alcohol based contact cleaner in just to rinse out some of the mystery grime that finds it's way onto/into every surface of the car)

Gentlemen. It was the switch. I jumped the red and green wires and it closed faster than ever before. I think that the contacts are corrupted and weren't fully passing the juice for a while.. I will deoxit and try again tomorrow.
If your roof closes or opens slowly, it most likely not the motor but the guides, adjustment thereof, or old lubricant.
