Yep, ditching the radio, and even more so the speakers will help. And wiring.
Also, replace the wood panels over the CE panel with something much lighter. I was thinking maybe a hard plastic board, like the plastic board material used over the spare tire. Maybe 1.5 pounds there.
You can at least live without the rear wiper and motor!

Another thing you can remove is the reinforcement bars inside of the doors. They unbolt with 2 bolts.

Also, I was thinking back about moving parts around this past weekend in a hot storage area, and the bumpers come to mind. They are already aluminum, but I bet you could shave several pounds off each if you "skeletonized" them by trimming and drilling out material, while still leaving behind functionality and form. It wouldn't be easy, but you'd never be able to tell visually after the covers are on. Plus the door cards with everything attached to them (armrests, storage cubby, pull handle, carpet) are not nearly as light as they could be if they were simplified - yet could still be attractive.
And don't install hood insulation.

My car is pretty light since I removed the engine, torque tube, trans, wheels, brakes, exhaust, fuel system and suspension.

I am planning a weight gain programme...

I have been down this road with my 1990 GT Outlaw nicknamed "Delete" long before the "Delete thread). In no particular order I removed:

1. Seats (replaced with lightweight Recaros)
2. Rear seats & belts.
3. Stereo, amp, wiring & speakers.
4. Dashboard/glovebox (replaced with Carbon fiber).
5. AC/heat/defrost retained but controls replaced with reliable pull cables.
6. Rear visors.
7. Bumper supports and shock absorbers.
8. Rear wiper & motor.
9. Rear hatch release motor.
10. Toolkit and spare.
11. Anti-submarine pads (heavy).
12. Sunroof inner metal and leather cover (surprisingly heavy).
13. Installed x-pipe and RMB. (Devek level II headers waiting to go on).
14. Airbags & Airbag steering wheel.
15. Front Air control flap system.
16. Rub rails.
17. Lightweight battery.
18. Air pump & its bracket and plumbing.
19. Smaller AC compressor, plus I deleted the rear AC, lines, housing, fan and wiring.
20. Wheels - Replaced with Carrera III 18" lightweights. Carrera (BBS), (Thanks for the reference information GT6ixer).
21. Windshield washer system.
22. Lightweight carpet set.
23. Front seat belts replaced with Harness bar and 5-point belts (safety first) .
24. 25 lbs of my own belly balast!
25. Bits and pieces I can't recall right now...

Yields a car that has much better handling, turn in and braking. Super fun and involving to drive!

What are the anti submarine pads?
I like Blakes idea of removing the door beams

I need the air pump I think in order to get thru smog however my old 80 did not come with one and passed smog every time.
Are MSDS headers lighter than stock headers?

Changing wheels is often a rewarding may to prune the weight.

Anti submarine pads are on airbag equipped cars and are large, heavy foam pads under the dashboard (not in your car). In a frontal collision the front seat occupants knees hit them and force is transferred to the large bones (femurs), the occupants can not slide under the seatbelts as easily. The object is to prevent lower leg injuries.

As I recall, mine weighed over 20 lbs!

Default As light as it gets... almost

82 “S” model
NHRA CERT 8.50

2250lbs without driver

took a disc grinder to the under hood structure and removed 5 lbs. this past weekend
passenger seat gone (15lbs))

next: 1” hole saw where the stock metal still remains (that ain’t much)

plastic windshield and hatch window

need to change change out door and quarter glass

otherwise.... there’s just not much else to lighten it up
maybe aluminum center section for rear end ($1500), aluminum engine block (30lbs and $4000)
could take the front spoiler off (4lbs) but hate that look

Driver could lose 10lbs... lol

You could always ditch the rear bumperettes? Unless they're filled with ballast

What I have done so far is:
Bumperetts are gone ( holes filled )
Side markers are gone ( holes filled)
Spoilers are gone (holes filled)
Front bumper with squirters has been replaced with a none S none squirter bumper
Rear seats are going
Light weight carpet no insulation
No tools etc
AC compressor will go as well as the heater etc
Radio and amp
Rear wiper and motor delete

Thinking of replacing the back glass with plexiglass or polycarbonate, Back hatch is really heavy
Safety bars in the doors will go
Seats stay as well as the dash
If i put a poly rear window I want to keep all the moldings as my goal is to make the car look a original as possible. I don't want that race car look

Any thoughts on poly side windows? I know paint is heavy but we have trade offs

"I don't want that race car look "

Once poly, you're at the race car look. It's a big red thumb.

It's not flat, perfectly clear, scratches easy, and over time fades.

You could glue it down like OEM and keep trim, be tricky to shape it right to get there..but dont see why not.
