Default Best way to store K Jet distributor

Hello,

While I'm waiting to finish the endless restoration of my 928.. I have everything apart waiting to get the chassis back from the body shop - What's the "correct" way to store the fuel distributor? the one I have is a bosch reman that I purchased in 2005 and IIRC it came wrapped in foam with the plunger pressed in.. is that the correct way to store the unit? ETA from the body shop is 3-5 months.

If it has been like that for 14 years I would leave it like that. So long as it is sealed it should be fine.

On the car....running on a very regular basis.

Everything else will be a problem.

Soaking in fuel in a sealed container? Might keep the Orings flexible?

The CIS stories I recall don't speak well for shelf life, what happens in the next few months may mean nothing after 14 years, it may not work well.
