On 928 , you have at the fuel entry of distributor , a screw with a filter inside ...
Check it too !
The little filter at the entry of my fuel distributor was
very clean. That I already checked.
As for the 8 ports with filters on my FD, i Will check but I am almost sure that they are rustfree. I’ll keep you posted my friend
Generaly , water in fuel come with condensation .
Hot day and cold night for exemple ...
Rust need humidity and oxygène .
When a car don't run for few month , fuel finish in vapor and rest pressure go down .
Water stay in fuel distributor and you know the result ...
The best way for don't have rust , is to drive your car !
Try , with a wood screw , to unplug the little filters in the fuel distributor to see if you have rust .
Here is a photo of my fuel pressure regulator of the FD. As you can see it is very clean :
The black dots are not dirt but are inside the paper
Hi Allan,
I checked the little filters in the FD ports that you are mentioning, but I do not have them.
I recently discovered another issue : my fuel tank is leaking at the bottom where there is the big screw inside my tank...
Any idea how to seal it properly? Strange because I cleaned my tank 7y ago and everything was tight.
I suddenly leaks now, luckily I saw it because my car
is now stationed at my parents on a straight concrete
floor which makes the leak quite visible
I add Stabil 360 to the tank when filling up all of my Pcars because I never know how long one of them might sit or when I might use a full tank of gas. They also stay hooked up to Battery Tenders for the same reason.
Not only does Stabil help with the moisture problem, but it also helps keep the fuel from getting stale and not firing properly - had that problem twice in my 997 before using Stabil.
I stripped the threaded insert in my tank once, and was able to seal it with a 2 part epoxy called PC11 - never leaked a drop. If you can disconnect your pump connections try it. Gently try to unscrew the intank pump and throw it - in Belgium you do NOT need it! Replace with just the intank filter, with anti-seize, and ONLY just tight enough to seal, with new rubber washer.

I will try it. I believe there is no intank pump behind
the connections you see. I remember to clean my
tank several years ago and did not see any pump .
But to make sure I will renew the threaded intank filter
and seal.
I’ll post some pictures...

Jp,
can I replace intank pump with only a filter screen?
I noticed different size in thread : 37mm for intank pump thread compared to 36mm for thread with only
filter.
