A/C Manual Recirculation
I'm planning on fitting a switch to the relay that operates the recirculation flap so I can operate it manually as on most modern cars.
It seems quite simple just fit a relay that either connect the relay (blue wire) to the normal circuit or to 12v +, depending on whether the new switch is on or off.
Have anyone tried this?

It is and has been my plan for 2 years Johan. Haven't had the time to engineer a switch into the console in a stock-looking place yet but it will come.

I did a short cut method on my car - except it's full time.
Tapped in a 'y' fitting in the hose going the HVAC controls then disconnected the vacuum line coming from the HVAC controls to the recirc flap pod and capped it. Ran a new line from the 'y' directly to the recirc flap - now the recirc flap stays closed all the time.
Not switched - but in my Black/Black car in the summer -I need all the help I can get.

Finding a place to add anything in the 928 in such a way that it look standard seems to be just about impossible. I've been thinking about it for months myself.
For now I installed the kick down switch and the lazar jammer in the ashtray and thats where I plan in fitting the recirc button as well. Its not the way I want it to look but I just can't think of another place.

What are summer temps like there where you stay Jay. Here in SA it seldom goes above 35 degC.
I don't want the recirc for temp but rather for odour and smoke. We don't have the strict emission control you have, in fact we have none, so here are a lot of vehicles that smoke a lot and when behind one of those you desperately need a recirc button.

Always been curious......
The '91 and above models have this from the factory. Is it just the climate control head that is in charge of it, or are there other factors outside the control head that also have an influence?
I guess what I'm asking is if you can just swap in a '91 control head and automatically have the feature?.......or are the '91 heads incompatible with earlier cars?

The recirculate button on the later models is also wired into the radiator cooling fan controller and the AC fan speed as well. Both fans come on full speed when recirculate is pressed.

Hey Ernest -
So when the recirc button is pressed the interior A/C fan speed is on full?
I would like the full time recirculation feature, but don't know if I like that side effect.......interesting. Can't remember, but is the recirc button actually in the A/C control head? If so, I would think then it could be
retroed to earlier cars......???
Come to think of it.......my '90 pretty much stays in recirculation mode most of the time anyway, so maybe it's not worth the effort.
