New Tool: Engine Stand Adapter
You may be familiar with the Porsche tool PN 9127 that is recommended when rebuilding the 928 engine. If the engine is not supported correctly during assembly, you will not get the proper alignment nor torque on the lower engine cradle.
The problem for us was that tool has not been made for a very long time, and they are hard to find.
So I made a small production run of the crescent in 3/4" steel and threaded it so it can bolt up to any engine stand you might have with the typical 4 adjustable arms. This in turn makes a 9127 support on the entire back of the motor, as intended.
I also like that when mounted this way, a person can still mount/dismount clutches and such while the engine is on the stand.
I needed two of them, so I had 10 made (just to get the costs down). Eight left in stock, when they are gone, they are gone. I doubt I will make them again.
