I carefully removed the factory carpeting and washed it in my handy washing machine. On the hand-wash cycle, gentle detergent like Woolite. The pieces get manually placed pile-out, no folds, on the drum for spin cycles. Extra rinse will help get all the detergent and dirt out. Than spread it out carefully to dry, vacuuming and brushing it gently with a carpet brush ti maintain perfect pile. The original rugs are Sliverknit, a premium cut-pyle material that really looks great when it's clean and brushed. Just a little care and the Maytag works wonders. My car has the same cashmere carpet, and the difference is stunning.
