Bracket the shelf mounts to, perhaps.

I have my shelf out now on my '83 -- I'll take a picture this evening and post.

Shark2626 --

One of the advantages of a paid membership is the ability to create a "signature" section that shows up at the bottom of every post. It saves you the trouble of putting some critical information in every post. Stuff like the year of your car, so we know we aren't providing incorrect guidance. For less than $20. Click the membership tab in the header bar and you'll be on your way to peace and happiness.

I carefully removed the factory carpeting and washed it in my handy washing machine. On the hand-wash cycle, gentle detergent like Woolite. The pieces get manually placed pile-out, no folds, on the drum for spin cycles. Extra rinse will help get all the detergent and dirt out. Than spread it out carefully to dry, vacuuming and brushing it gently with a carpet brush ti maintain perfect pile. The original rugs are Sliverknit, a premium cut-pyle material that really looks great when it's clean and brushed. Just a little care and the Maytag works wonders. My car has the same cashmere carpet, and the difference is stunning.

Here’s the console side. Another one very much like it on the door side.

The threaded post on the bracket fits through the hole circled in red. You just need the nut and washer.
