Default Labor involved doing Lower control arms while doing shocks

While replacing shocks, does replacement of lower control arms add a lot of extra work. This is my 86.6

not much at all, you have to loosen the LCA to pull it out of the way. You do need to do an alignment either way.

if you know you need to do both, I would do them both at the same time, as you will need to drop the coilover to get the upper out.
