It's very true that lawyers that assist clients in pursuing stupid cases are despicable. However, don't forget that the clients themselves are often the ones pushing cases that are complete crap. I push for sanctions to be imposed against both the lawyers and their clients for those cases.

Andy, I'm confused by Tony's post above, I quote:

"Anyone who was planning on participating in this group purchase please be advised that things are on hold ...snipage....
.... Sorry for the legal sounding mumbo jumbo. It shouldn't come as a surprise after a recent post on rennlist. I've always thought I was dealing w/ a tight-knit community, and I just don't want to be proven wrong. Please contact me privately w/ any questions."

I'm hoping this doesn't mean that, based on this thread, you have decided to stop your work? I read that quote as a mail that you would have sent out, saying you would not sell sc kits anymore, because of this thread .... tell me it isn't so. I didn't see any mail anywhere to that effect, all I see is Tony's post with the above quote and I am asking where he got it ....

Heinrich .... it is a bit like If I decided to have a weekend get together in the mountains ...... invite a few friends. We might meet then caravan in a spirited fashion to the local restaurant for dinner . Sounds like a nice party .............BUT a friend of a friend asks a hypothetical question " What happens if Joe crashes his car ?? is he going to sue me for organizing the "party" ?? Sue Tom who was the lead car ? Sue the tire manufacturer ? Sue Porsche ? Sue the restaurant where he drank some wine ? .....................suddenly I might have just lost my appetite . What started out as being fun .. helping some friends have a good time . There are also some parallels to a pre-nuptual agreement .............. "Why do I have to work out the divorce arrangements BEFORE we get married ? " Does not give you a warm fuzzy feeling . Bottom line is Andy probably does need a pre-nuptual or he quite possibly could get (......)

I don't see a single post here that is threatening or negative. We are all saying the same thing in different flavours. You're all good guys and I love you all, so let's move on and become even better friends. No-one here wants to sue anyone.
