Zaino on passenger side left of picture ( clear seal followed by 2 coats of z2 and final spritz)
Griots Best of show carnuba on right drivers side ( 2 coats of easy to remove carnuba wax and their spritz)

I think the right wax side looks a little darker

Zaino side

best of show side (carnuba)

I got some sonax ceramic coat from amazon 61.00
I am surprised how it made the paint on my 2 88 S4s and my Range Rover dance
I have never seen a Grand Prix white paint that appeared to be glowing like my car does
My Santorini Black paint is spectacular in how it's showing its mica pearl metallics
My Yellow car has never looked better
plus nothing seems to stick to the paint major dirt washes off with usually a spray of water
The Range and GP car live outside and I do my best to keep them out of the sun and
keep them washed the finishes have never looked as good as they do now
This is the best stuff I have used for paint protection

Stan did you polish first? I always see faint swirls on my black no matter what just from wiping with a towel or shammy and want to make it perfect. I have an orbital polisher what type of pad is best for polishing and for waxing? I have good products but think I’m not using the most appropriate pads!

To the question about pads for a DA polisher, here is a write up I did for Camp 928 event, explains types of pads to use with which compound/polishes etc.

The stiffer the pad pad the more work it does to the paint, the softer , less work done on the paint.

Andy , don’t mean to hijack your thread, I use Griots best in show and have always thought it gave great shine and easy to work with.

I really can't tell a difference. However, your taste in music is interesting.

In my experience, Zaino is a great product and easily beats the Griots paste waxes. However, Griot's PolyWax looks better than Zaino Z-2 Pro on GT Silver paint in my experience.

FWIW I also got a clay bar and a 3M buffing kit it has compound , polish and swirl remover along with the 3 different pads I used on my buffer
i Clayed the white car and then buffed it with the three different compounds
This car has a single stage original paint
The Ceramic count was applied and it makes the paint look like it has a coat of glass on it.

I recently had the Range detailed and put a silicone based Sonax wax on it and I was not happy with the short duration of protection it offered
So I gave the truck a good wash and then applied the Ceramic coating to the Range
this paint is black with rainbow mica chips in it
and it’s base coat clear I am amazed at how this coating has made the paint deeply reflective and the surface is smooth as glass and also has the coated with glass look
Lastly I put it on my show car this made the paint have an even deeper reflectivity
a spray off with the hose removes most of the dirt
I would recommend you try this stuff I think you will like what it does

Only need light touchup here. Thanks for the great info. Griot’s yellow, black and red 6.5” pads, 3m ultrafine machine polish, and Sonax CC36 on order. Plan to clay bar then use yellow or black pads with the ultrafine polish. Have 3m machine polish too but don’t think it will be needed. Will compare to Meguiars carnauba and report back (and sorry for the continued hijack!)

Will waxes with carnuba (which is yellow) cause yellowing of PPF over time?
