Default Proper routing of ignition wires

I have been searching for any info for the installation of wires for an 86.5. Mine look OK but there seams to be a little neatness issue. I am getting ready to replace and I would like to make sure this is close to factory as possible. If anyone has any suggestions of where to look would appreciate it.

Thank you again JD

Most of the wires are held in place by clips on the cam covers on S3 cars. So the routing is somewhat determined for you.
You may want to check that the clips are all good as they are old and break easy.

From what I've seen the first pic shows factory routing. Two wires come across the front through the Beru clips that are on mounts one either side of the filler neck. (The other two that make the "crossover" are under the coolant hoses?) (First pic..from interweb.) Then, when they make the turn at the cam cover, another double-clip.
Interestingly, my PO ran all four across the same path and "double-stacked" the clips. (Second pic). It needs to be cleaned up, but should work fine as well.

It seems I have the "double stacked " thing going on as well, also from PO . This is why I was wondering also mine are close to the linkage like what I see on yours. I will look for more images, thank you.
