Default Rear view mirror suggestions

The interior (windshield) mirror fell off. I'm told there are better options, i.e., wider field of view mirrors to replace it with. Anybody have recommendations?

Never tried one but something like this might be cool. Reviews are not great for this one, but someday I'm guessing digital rearviews will be standard in most cars.

I replaced mine with the mirror from a 95 Sebring. It has a compass, homelink, outside temperature (if you want to install that) and map lights which are handy.

There's a thought.
Buying OEM parts tend to be a little cheaper (if sourced from salvage yards) and more durable than most of the commodity Chinese gimmick parts that I've been seeing lately.
(A friend has now been through three double DIN Android auto receivers, as they overheat and then start throttling or reboot cycling. The new one appears to be holding up, but three tries is a bit much...)

Boxster mirror mentioned in this thread.

Did it "fall" off or did you and your wife knock it off? You retired couples are wild!

Thanks for that image...

If anyone has tried a wider interior mirror I'd be interested to know if it helps with blind spots.
The PO might have replaced my side mirrors with the wrong shape or something but I check over my shoulder twice before changing lanes now after a couple of near misses relying on mirrors. Don't want to stick those little reflectors on the outside mirrors if I can avoid it.
The sun visor might not fit past a wider interior mirror though.

I've been driving a more modern DD, one with a backup cam. I claim that I'm a mirrors driver but still find myself glancing at the 928 console for backup guidance, if only for distance to obstacles or parking bumpers. Were I replacing the interior mirror for any reason, having a backup-cam screen on one side would be a big plus. Adding a Homelink to it would eliminate one more bit of gear on the parcel shelf.

Anybody have experience with these features in a 928 and a recommendation?

The Sebring mirror is a little wider than stock and it does seem to help me seeing things going on around me.

Gentex makes a rear view mirror with auto dimming, back up camera, and homelink.
Amazon Amazon

Pricey though.

Be careful of sizing the mirror or your sun visors won't go down. I am using a Gentix (sp?). I had to mount it a little low for clearance.
Good luck,
Dave

Are you using the "no blind spots" method to set up your mirrors? If not, I highly recommend it.

Hi Hugo, I've experimented with facing them out wider so I can't see the bodywork in them but doesn't seem to help much but I'll have another go.
Think I'm just used to the convex mirrors on modern cars rather than these flat ones.
Thanks.

This video covers how to do the setup. At 4:01 you can see the net effect while on the road.
