yes it is sometimes difficult to find sunshine here in between the rain-clouds, next sunny spell i will take more pics as the colour does pick up somewhat dependant on the light. unfortunately these pics lack contrast.

the rub strip delete really does change the cars lines, but makes parking a thoughtfull exercise! more and more i think a wing spoiler on the back will balance the car aesthetically as well as dynamicaly, just not sure of what type- maybe the s4 type colour matched? or possibly the huge carbonfibre type aka 928specialists??

although the euro s2 is good for 310hp stock driving the 88 has spoilt me for midrange torque and now my mind has turned to increasing power options (actualy it wasnt ever far from this!). as my budget tightens the engine internals become inaccessable and mild boost via positive displacement seems appealing. if/when this happens i will want some serious downforce and will look at an undertray for the engine compartment and maybe a rear diffuser also...

but for now some more mundane areas of my life need attention!

I know where you are coming from, Drnick. But certainly, never-so-much important... Maybe not as cool though? I think your car IS cool. Truly, one of the best S2s I've seen! Can we say, jealous? Yep.

gareth,

the fibreglass cost £400 or aprox $720 usd. i started a thread about a group purchase a while back for those interested in obtaining a discounted rate. on top of this cost is the removal/fitting, paint and lights. oem light clusters are very expensive, ive used hella spot/fogs in place of.

I really like the rounded look though...

I actually think it looks cool without the wing, and I almost wish the rockers were more understated.
These cars are already rounded, and I like seeing that exagerated. The GTS arches help a lot, and I like the fact that you kept the round rear bumper, and rounded out the front...

It looks cool. And the color is great. Hope you like attention from the police! Hahaha!

hey bc,

yeah i like the look without the rear spoiler but i think im noticing its absence! i spoke to a guy today who does custom body modifications with a view to making up a rear diffuser and other underbody mods, id like to leave off a rear wing if possible.

i love the police, i desperately want my car to go faster and attract even more attention!!

chad,

ballpark figure is... not cheap and more than i originaly paid for the car! the work isnt just in the prep but takes a skilled painter, good equipment and decent facilities.

chris,

the rocker panels are from a tuning crowd called 'demon tweeks' in wrexham. i was bored one time, went in there and picked some which were pictured on a vauxhall/holden/gm in a catalogue they had. they were slightly longer but essentialy straight along the upper edge. i cut the ends off and rejoined them making them smaller in the process, shaped the top edge with sandpaper and fashioned some simple brackets to fix on the car. they came in black molded 'abs' plastic.

do you have a carbon fibre wing, whats it like?
