I think Seth deserves an award for providing the mobile support services vehicle, plus posting event photos and descriptions, all without (yet...) having his own 928 on the road. Too many events fly by, and no chance for thse of us who can't attend. Pics of cars and PEOPLE are second best to being there.
Thanks Seth!
Thanks Seth!
Seth had a floor jack, breaker bar, protected 19mm socket, torque wrench, wheel chocks, cardboard moving box and a piece of wood which helped me diagnose my "Brake Pad" warning on the Black Witch and have the peace of mind to be the last one out of Banner Elk tomorrow doing biz meetings in Atlanta on Tuesday.
Thanks to @drscottsmith for asking about the wiring near the Brake Pad Warning sensor which came unplugged.
I have at least one picture of MOST 928s. Will try to publish them all here tonight... now to go drive some twisties

Trip to Atlanta (intermediate business stop on way to Jacksonville) mapped :
Looking forward to a leisurely ride down Blue Ridge Parkway, Maggie Valley, Nantahala National Forest, Blue Ridge and part of the roads less traveled. Maybe I'll be feeling lucky and stop at the casino in Cherokee.

And then there was one....
I've set up a chair and am drinking beer. The drywallers staying here think I'm cool
Waiting for the right moment to bust out some Naturdays.....NOT

What a great time! I'm back home here in MD, it took about 8 hours to go 500 miles and to be honest I was so comfortable in the car I almost didn't want to get out at the end. The 928 is a serious road cruiser, it can happily go 80mph all day long without breaking a sweat, and at the same time rip around mountain curves that would make many other cars pause.
It looks like HirschJaeger has passed the long distance test. I'll put in the new speakers next weekend, then just enjoy the car for the rest of the summer. Thank you for putting this event on, and thank you everyone for coming and showing excellent hospitality to a newcomer.

Christopher, that is one of the main allures of SITM.
Show up, and you are one of the family. Dysfunctional and partially insane, but family.
However...Hotel California rules: you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.

Thank you, dr bob! I appreciate the kind words.
We were lucky in that no major repairs were required this year. And...I failed a bit. A little too much lubrication while socializing both nights and too much fun driving 928’s on Saturday to remember to take more photos. 😊

Thank you all
I really enjoyed my 1st SITM everyone I meet couldn't have been more welcoming to a newbie. Even got to play tour guide on the way back to Atlanta as well. What a great weekend !

Excellent picture!!
It was soooooo good to see everyone!!! There were definitely a few of the "Old Guard" that I didn't expect to see and it was AWESOME seeing them, and in some cases the new spouses. (Tom we absolutely loved Heather! Congrats!) Dave and Jeannie rock! THANK YOU BOTH!!!!
There were a few people I missed speaking with, but I was 928 and owner overload. Seth, thanks for posting all the pics, and just for being the great guy at you are. Scott Smith, our dear leader of The Carolina 928s, thank you for a great job on shirts and stickers. We got a lot of compliments on the shirts.
Sorry I'm rambling on trying to get all these thoughts out. It was an emotional day for me. Wonderful memories came flooding back, all the way back to the Sharks in the Harbor days outside of ATL. the First Sharks in the Mountains. The Fall Mountain Drive a week after 9/11. Dyno Days in Greer, SC. "Doc" Mohr, Thor

As always an awesome fun time. There are folks I see only once per year at SITM, but after close-to-twenty years now, it’s like a family reunion.
That was a great ‘surprise.’ I’ve been informed that because I didn’t get a t-shirt with ‘the map’ (see below) I *must* stop at Deals Gap on the way back from 928 Rendezvous and get one. I sure hope The Dragon Store has them.
