For a 1979 928, 5-speed:
When testing the warm and cold control pressures, which port on the pressure control regulator do I apply vacuum. The port on top or on the side?

If memory serves me right, the port on the side is vacuum. The one on top is to compensate for atmospheric pressure. The vacuum assist shouldn't make THAT much of a difference, though... HTH.

You use the port on the side. The vacuum does make a difference and is a very important part of the test procedure. Best to have a Mity Vac for this. There is about a .6 Bar difference in control pressure betwen vacuum and no vacuum. Let me know if you need more info.

Thanks for the help guys. I'll be getting busy with the testing this morning. BTW, where should I test for restrictions in the return-to-tank fuel line if my test pressure results are high?
