Question New England Mechanic needed...

Does anyone know of a reliable 928 specialist I can have work on my S4 in the Rhode Island area? I have patience and money, but not enough mechanical knowledge, and little interest in filling the deep pockets of my local Stealership any more than I already have. Especially knowing that I can get parts from one of the big 3 for less than half the cost.
Thanks for any info,
Kevin

If you were a little close to New Hampshire......I know a great mechanic who charges very reasonable rates. Depending on what you need done it might even be worth your while to drive up here if you cannot find someone local. It's a pretty far drive from Newport to Manchester though.

Mike Bachow at Automobile Associates in Canton CT. MB knows 928s.

Call Chris or David at Musante Motorsports. They will either do the work for you, or refer you to someone who can.

Thanks alot for all your input!!. I'm definitely going to follow up on the leads.

Gary, Manchester is only about 2 hours from where I am. That's not too bad. The shark's not running right now but I'm willing to have it flatbedded as far as it's gotta go to have dependable work done it at a fair price.

The Hartford CT area where Musante Motorsports is located may be closer, and you will be hard pressed to find a more avid 928er than David Lloyd (of 928Racing.net and 928Central.com as well).

Who knows, David might be willing to come get the car as well....

Call Randolph Associates in Stoughton MA. They're and independant Porsche repair shop. I bought a set of wheels from them a few years ago and while I was waiting to get them, I spoke with a few of the customers and they were quite pleased with them. I dealt with Kevin Saltzman. There were alot of 911's and a few 944 track cars. Its worth a call. 781-297-0008. Try posting on the other forums. Maybe you can get more places to chose from.

It sounds like you have several closer options, but here's another:

Shawn Hendley
603-622-3223

He has a lot of 928 experience and he charged me about 30% less to do my timing belt than I was quoted at a couple of other places around here.

Esprit,

I'm guessing you were satisfied with my referral to Shawn Hendley

Very happy, Thanks! I've never met a mechanic before who actually offered to let me hang out and watch him work. I didn't take him up on the offer, but I might sometime.
