Default For Sale - New 8" H4 Bosch Headlights

For Sale 1 pair of new 8" H4 Bosch headlights part number 928 631 101 03

I purchased these new many years ago before knowing that there is a difference between RHD and LHD headlights.
These are for right hand traffic and no good to me here in Australia as we drive on the left hand side of the road.
They have never been fitted to a car.

US$850 which includes postage to USA

Renix,

That was a good quick sale!
In most people's driving world LHD cars are called such because the driver sits on the Left, and drives on the right side of the road. In Oz we drive on the left but sit on the Right side of the car. LHD and RHD do NOT refer to which side of the road we drive on.
The '101' in the part no tells us its a LHD item - RHD would be '102' - true of all Porsche part numbers where there can be either part. A complete item that is one or the other will start with 927 for RHD.
Just thinking that if you order a LHD part again you may be disappointed.

Good info thanks, I new about the 927 but did not know about 101/102.

This happened very early on in my 928 ownership roughly 15 years ago and is the only time I have ever ordered the wrong part.
I've often thought that the vendor must have known they were selling me the wrong part but it was my fault at the end of the day.

Renix,
Well, actually what happens with handed items is the last digit of that group of 3 is odd for left side parts and even for right side parts . I have a spare RHD 8" headlight I bought out of USA from somebody who made the same mistake in reverse. I bought a RHS and LHS nylon window brackets (slides on the tube in the door) from a dealer in Oz years ago, and they had the correct part nos moulded in them, but they were both RHS parts....!
Where abouts in Melbourne are you? Mine is also a GPW S Euro 3 speed.

If anyone else is looking for another pair of LHD H4's I have set for sale on a popular auction site. For slightly less money. https://www.ebay.com/itm/153438243731

I'm in Croydon (Eastern Suburbs). Unfortunately my GPW 82 has had more hits than Elvis.
I bought it sight unseen 6 years ago from Sydney, big mistake I know but it was manual and cheap.

Looks pretty nice! How is the interior? Any real issues?
Mine gets a guernsey on P110 of the Brian book....full white leather interior. Brought it home from Saudi Arabia in 2003.

Have had the seats fully rebuilt, steering wheel recovered, and rest of the inside professionally cleaned and coloured since this last pic.

That's different! Can't say I've ever seen a 928 with white interior before, not in the flesh anyway. Rare too I imagine if it came like that from the factory?

Mine is plagued with issues. The main two being - water in the oil and damage to the front left corner of the roof which has been badly repaired resulting in the windscreen, sunroof and left door all not fitting correctly.
Let's just say it's a future project.

I'm actually a trimmer, did these for a client's 81 at the end of last year in blue berber/leather.

I like that seat finish, especially if it tones with the rest of the interior! My interior is all factory ('Leather to Sample' on the invoice), as are the body coloured wheels.
Re water in the oil - do you know if its head gasket related, or could it be the intercooler in the radiator left tank? Any oil in the water ? If the door doesnt shut properly that sounds like its had a smack in the side?
Is the 79 or the 82 ?
I am in Eltham, but not getting the car out much lately - bung shoulder and old age.

It's the 82, it failed a compression test so I'm hoping it's only head gasket. No the roof has been damaged in the front left corner which is causing all of the fitment problems.
