Outer door window seal replacement
I bought the OEM versions - I've installed a couple of Roger's, but I wanted to go OEMs to see if the installation was different.
I left the new seals in the sun to warm up while I removed the old ones along with the inner seal and the felt window guides. Soaped them up and brought them into the garage - soapy water dries too quickly in the sun.
The installation was markedly different because the lower edge of the seal slipped right on with almost no effort. The seal slid back and forth making it easy to get the curved section into position.
My biggest takeaway was how to remove the felt pads and suspend them with mechanics wire. (After fighting the PS side getting the first felt pad into position for an hour.)
I slid the wire through the felt pads and let them hang on the door mount while I installed the seal. Then once the seal was in I raised the felt pad into position moved the wire so it would come over the mounts.
While holding the wire taut I was able to screw in the allen bolt. No drama.
The second seal was in and buttoned up in less than 20 minutes!
Here's where I pass the mechanics wire through the two pads. I remove the allen bolt, twist the wires together and hang it over the the door mount.
If this is an Enzo, apologies in advance.
