Leak in trunk at tail light bolts?
So I am tracking down little leaks in my cabin and noticed that there is some water in the rear cabin. Strangely enough, the drip lines look like they are coming from where the tail lights bolt to the cabin, as it is coming from the nut. Anyone seen this before?

I use "Closed Cell Foam" which is a door and window sealant. It comes in a few colours and has an adhesive backing and it is approximately 1/4" square cross section. I stick this to the surface of the tail light where the tail light conforms to aperture in the rear bumper "plastic" section of the body. This prevent water entering the inner aperture of the bumper. Problem solved.

The bumper cover is plastic, the hatch tub is metal and the gap between them is where water drains from the hatch gutter and rear sunroof drains. The grommets in the hatch seal the interior from water draining from the sunroof and hatch, not from the taillight cavity.

I has my car for over 19yrs and the securing studs have the rubber grommets installed and the bottom drain holes from the aperture are clear, as are the drains from the from the hatch guttering and the rear sunroof drains are also clear, so no problems from water entering the tail light aperture from around the tail lights either..
