Who is an original owner?

I bought my GTS new in 1993. I later found out that it was a custom order car and that buyer got cold feet at delivery time (I met him in 2000 at the 928 Owner's Club Convention). No PO's to bitch about here.
My '83 was a "one family" car, originally purchased by the father and passed down to his daughter. I have receipts on the first oil change all the way through to when I bought it.

The problem with the Canadian Tire bumper paint is that it will tend to peel.
I've used it in other occasions and had hard time making the product stay on for more than a couple of months. I think a better substitute would be the same type of paint but form a better manufacturer. I would go to an automotive paint supply store and ask for the same product.
Canadian Tire tends to sell cheaper manufactured paint products than the specialty shops.
I hope this helps.

I'm way down the chain, either the 4th or 5th owner of my 928. No new car smell for me, it smelled like slowly hardening leather when I rescued it at an auction.
But as it came with the original window sticker, I can answer your question on "how much did you pay for it"...
My car, an auto-trans early '86 model with most factory options and every dealer-installed option (like the Commander Phone and the Built-In Radar Detector) was purchased new in October of 1985 in Detroit for $52,000 + change. I was 12 years old at the time, lost in Rubik's Cube and my Atari 2600.

I'm the second private owner of my 928GT:
Porsche had it from 1991-93 and 35.000 km's.
A lady bought it from Raffay Porsche in Hamburg for slightly over 100.000 Deutsch Mark in 1993 and had it until 2003 when i bought it from her with 63.000 km's on the ODO.
It was sold to her with the same warranty as a new 928 and she said that the price she got was roughly 50% of an equally specified GTS. She also ordered it with GTS wheels and mirrors and a Blaupunkt cassette with 10 disc CD-changer.

We have at least one on our PAC NW 928 list that has owned his 88 from new. Aside from that, I have seen two nearly new cars that still had that new car smell. One was an 89 with only 9 k on it....the other ...the mythical 88 5-sp Twin Turbo with only ..get this....2500 miles or so on it.... This car deserves a story all on its own...never mind the TT...... :-)
I have to say...it is truly amazing to see a 928 with very low mileage.......as close to the factory delivery as I will ever get ;-)

I'd venture to guess that there are one or two people on this board who have bought a new 928 and later sold it. Me on the other hand...well, I try not to look at all the different names in the records I have.

I bought an '86.5 in October 2003 with 21000 miles on the odometer that had never been titled or registered. It came with the Manufacturer's Statement of Origin (and no service records). Does that make me the original owner? The story was that it had belonged to an auto broker who put plates on it whenever he used it. Seemed implausable to me, but I have had two different mechanics go over it from stem to stern and they both felt the mileage was correct. I was the original owner of an '82 but I no longer own it.
