Just an FYI for any one curious.

The actual Whipple webiste
http://www.whipplesuperchargers.com/ ..............
is pretty lame and lacking when it comes to any tech. info on them. The actual Whipplecharger is a Lysholm Twin screw from what I understand.

Tony,

You are correct... basic website.... trying to reach a Whipple tech rep is very difficult as well. It took Andy over 2 weeks of trying to reach and talking to a few to figure out what he needed.

Chris,
So there is no confusion that is Steve_C as opposed to Steve C in Ny.
There should also be one more who is on you list.

Tony,
Whipple Industries licenses the Lysholm SCs here in the US. They are the sole distributor.

Well,

I am trying to get them a few hundred dollars cheaper than the $2050 I paid for 2300AX, pulley, and shipping.

So...
I missed something?
This purchase includes ...?
And will work with Andy's manifold(s) other pulleys, tubing, hardware, inter-cooler...?
Will the individual Wipple purchaser need to ship the SC to Andy for mating or do the mating/porting themselves?
Like other lazy Basta%ds, I am concerned that the 16 v project might languish should anything happen to Andy and, consequently, his labor of love.
Sounds like a great deal and if the final product -say: Jim Baileys' brown car is finished and we get the word it is a sound, reliable project/finished product, I'm in.
Keeping in mind I have absolutely no use for a $2000.00 paper weight.
What do you, best guess, think the shipped price will be?

This purchase includes ...?
This proposed group purchase is for the Whipple 2300AX Supercharger unit only. No other parts.

And will work with Andy's manifold(s) other pulleys, tubing, hardware, inter-cooler...?
Yes this is one of the superchargers my kits are designed around.

Will the individual Wipple purchaser need to ship the SC to Andy for mating or do the mating/porting themselves?
No, it bolts right to my parts with no modifications.

This post was started as an information point for those rennlisters that have already told me they definately want one of the 12 32V manifolds/systems that wll be complete soon. At this point all of the manifolds/systems from this run are accounted for, except one that is probably going to be freed up. I may be able to scrounge up another manifold or 2 as sometimes the foundry pours extra pieces to cover for messups.
If you want a Whipple 2300AX for any other reason or any other Whipple SC, feel free to join in.

Andy,

Thank you for your efforts to make these 12 systems available. I am an engineer charged with sales and project management (if I get an Order) for engine driven firewater pumps for classified areas. I do appreciate the immense amount of time you have devoted to this project for the initial lucky dozen. You are to be commended for your selfless efforts to advance the rare breed we share. I hope to meet you soon.

Hi everyone,

I am curious if the 2300 AX or the Eaton is requiring the use of a snout bracket. In addition, I am also curious about the placement of the drive pulley on the crankshaft.. Is there a billet unit, including all the accessory drives, or just a specific pulley fabricated, and bolted to the existing assembley...

Furthermore, what type of liquid-to-air intercooler is being used?

Thanks,

Rich

you can run either supercharger without a snout bracket, but it isn't reccomended. Andy has fabed up snout brackets that work on both superchargers and are should be used.

Andy's new crank pulley replaces the stock one.

His intercoolers are very high-quality custom units that sit inside the intake manifold after the unit. If you want to know more, ask him about it.

Anyone who was planning on participating in this group purchase please be advised that things are on hold from my end indefinately. Meaning, I am not sure if or when I will be able to ship parts. Also please be advised that no other party has been contracted or agreed with to represent me in any way, i.e. don't give anyone money for anything associated with me, etc. Sorry for the legal sounding mumbo jumbo. It shouldn't come as a surprise after a recent post on rennlist. I've always thought I was dealing w/ a tight-knit community, and I just don't want to be proven wrong. Please contact me privately w/ any questions.
Sincerely,
Andy K
