It's obvious that doing the whole conversion properly is the expensive part.
Wiring, AC, sensors, etc...
If all that was done properly, and everything ran, and worked, etc,
then the Chevy engine would be cheaper to deal with.
A lot of the stuff that is ripped out, is the big problem.
Not to mention that the car looks like it needs work overall.
I'd guess another 5K just to get it all sorted out.
And then another 5K to get it looking nice, etc...

I just don't understand the conversion thing. This car is neither a 928 or a Corvette - if you want a 928 get a 928 and if you get a Corvette get a Corvette. I just don't get it

I cannot imagine anyone dumb enough to buy this thing...........the engineering design has been completely butchered...........This car is worth much more in parts than the whole, and he is going to have to part it out himself...........or get nearly nothing for it.

The only reason to do it, is because Corvettes are ugly.
The 928 is beautiful.
And the 928 has better suspension, quality, comfort, etc...
It's a Porsche, not a Chevy. And Porsches are well-built cars.
The only reason to do it is if the engine is DEAD, DEAD, DEAD.
Then it is one way to get a beautiful car back on the road.
But if the Euro engine was running, I see no reason not to keep it alive, and unmolested.
If I ever decided to do a conversion, I would do it to a 928 that had no engine...
I would sell my euro, and start a conversion on a 928 with a dead motor.
Although it might be cheaper to get one 928 with no engine, and another with a thrashed body,
and swap engines... Regardless, there are reasons to do a conversion, but only if you do it right...

I don't see the 350 as makeing any sence.
Maybe a 383, I think that the cin for the 6.3l engine. (SBC with a 400 cin crank.)
I belive it's possible for them to fit a BBC into the car.
A BBC, fitted out with aftermarket 4 valve heads, w/ a pentaroof aluminion combustion chamber, roller lifters, supercharger, deck plate, o-rinded head, headers, and the like would be mean. Imagion a 502 with a supercharger going up to say 20 psig boost, reving up to 6,000 with a proper cam. The result should be awesome.
The only way that I know of to get that displacement, at that boost level would be to completely redue the block with heavy duty sleves. You'd just about have to remove all of the current cylinder wall, if not all.
