Default Pumpkin confirmation!

Hi all

I bought this as the correct rear muffler for a 1981 4.5 but it isnt! The code is 928 111 931 03 and I think it's from a 1983-1986 4.7 S model? Can any expert confirm before I chuck it on eBay?

Thanks

Mark is right as it should still mate to the earlier cat back single exhaust. That pumpkin was 928 111 931 02.

It fits fine, but I wanted the correct one which sadly this is not so it has to go!

Ive already sorted an alternative so just wanted it verified that it was for a 4.7 928S

Thanks again for your replies :-)

Still a very desirable muffler. Should bring good money on Ebay

Mine is an 83 S Euro, and the pumpkin is a 2 pipes in as well as 2 out as above. Obviously the central muffler is a matching 2 out unit. This one looks a bit like its had some new skin welded on, but the 2 pipes throught looks original. My pumpkin looks like 92811193300, front (called intermediate in PET?) like 92811193500. Picked up a new pumpkin also a few years ago - might need that one day!

Thanks again everyone. I have no idea what its worth before listing on Ebay? Mine was NOS and has only done 150 miles before it was taken off so nearly new. Any thoughts? Thanks!
