The weather has been good if you like a good bog, but it's finally changed this week. Camp 928 is held during the narrow gap between black fly season and the arrival of slow-driving summer people. I was afraid the wet weather might have delayed peak fly, but I think we'll be OK. Still, be mindful of the adage "Black flies matter".
Glen - there are trails in Zion marked "not for those with a fear of heights". I didn't know I had one until I went up Angels Landing. Watch our for loose sand!
Shawn - You'll have a blast in the Boxster on our roads. But another way to have a blast is to ride with Jay Kempf on the epic fun run he devised. I've seen the shell-shocked look in his prior passengers, who can only mutter "He's a good driver."
A car emerged from a storage unit in town and has been offered for sale at just $10K. Wow, you'd look good puffing on a cigar in this car, Shawn. But out the other window since it's right-hand drive. I'll have Wes bring it over if he still has it.

Alex, you did register earlier but had not paid the fare. Now you are all set for adventure. As to whether you'll be allowed to leave on Saturday, that will be up to Tony, but it appears the remote cabin will be available Saturday night.
Test firing of the new campfire area:
Nancy became obsessed with solar landscaping lights recently. If you see the electric heron, make sure to say something nice about it.

Bob - great you're coming. If no one is around when you arrive, go back to Route 9 where it turns south (at the light, the only light, Main Street); we'll be in the Main Street Ice Cream Parlor.
Nice cars. As you may have noticed, I have a Sprite. Bob V once had a big Healey.

I like how we’re getting some new people. I remember going to my first gathering - I learned a lot. For one thing, I learned the group has a sense of humor - I walked up to some guys and introduced myself by asking “Who are all these a—holes with the funny-looking cars?” Then I asked Wayne what color his car was - that went too far. He made a surprise appearance last year - wonder if he’s coming.

Bob - look up Bill Windham when you are there. A good buddy of mine from my Montana days, and he now works there. I think he is on the auction side, but he should be around. Tell him I said Hi if you run into him.
