The third edition of Camp 928 will take place June 13 to 16, 2019
This is the same weekend as before, tucked in between other local events and the local school schedule. After black fly season but before most summer people arrive. The schedule of activities will be the same.
Registration is not yet open, but you might want to arrange your housing soon. Check the website for housing information. As before, you are welcome to crash at our place, in a tent or on a cot in our studio building. http://www.camp928.com
We had some entertaining impromptu tech sessions - there are always cars needing attention. Two lifts are available in the Camp 928 Clubhouse. If anyone wishes to propose a formal session, let us know. The best ones take an hour or less, with guaranteed success.
Folks always like to know who’s coming, so share your plans in this thread. Quite a few people came up to me at Frenzy to say they hoped to come this year. I seem to have a very effective Marketing Director; thanks, Tony. He suggests that the swag for this year be a bag for your car care items. Hats and shirts will be available.
The guys who came Thursday enjoyed a great tour of Tumblehome Boat Shop just down the road. I don’t know how to top that, so we might go back again. It’s great to have the early arrivals to help set up.
Thanks to everyone who helped out last year. We’re getting pretty good at this!
Buckeyes! I moved back here in 2005 from Cincinnati. Made the 700-mile trip many, many times as we built the compound. I will volunteer Alex to give you a tour of his collection in Rochester.

That was what I had in mind also if we come up there.
Curt I plan on being there, will talk to my Daughter today and see if she will be available as well. Is the Cabin still available? If so put a tag on her for me...and yes, anyone who would like a rest stop in Rochester area to see the collection is welcome. We also have to do an 'updated' video at some point - have had many requests to do so...
Only 780 miles if I cut across southern Canada from Sarnia to Niagra Falls. Camp 928 is another 40 miles to Bolton Landing on Lake George and a bunch of other friends with old mahogany boats and great old Island homes...
I'll check with Steve and see if he can drive the U-Boat while I drag Snow White in the protective custody of the trailer behind Big Blue.
928 GT R: Great to have a Michigan contingent. Lots of room on our compound, and more across the road if necessary for stashing big things (is there room for two cars in that trailer?).
Luc: It was very special that you dropped in last year, while passing by!
Bob: The paint on the Unimog is looking kinda dull - you think it could be improved? Bob and I will be doing a tech session on horns - using real French horns! Tell John Kelly we will waive the registration fee, if that's a concern. I know IBM stock has tanked.
[Edit] Sonny! - I was just just thinking of you and your big rig. It will be good to see you, your wife and the dog, camping out in luxury.
Nancy and I are looking forward to this once-a-year excitement in our otherwise quiet lives.
Hey guys, I wish I could make it. Too many family duties...
For anyone on their way there, let me know if you want to stop by Watkins Glen. We are having one of our driving schools June 12-13th and you are more than welcome to stop in as a guest. Then you can get a little more scenery along the way...
