Vin number 928 s

Vin number 928 s
Hi.
I have a 928 S(looks like a euro S) but I cant find the vin number. Some time in the past it got a replacement panel welded in the front where the vin number normally are stamped in due to a crash I think. And the sticker in the trunk is missing.
Is there any possibility that the vin number can be found from the engine and gearbox number?

Engine:
M28-12
82D 5543
I do hope I can find out something about the vin, otherwise the car will just be for parts...

Your engine is a 1983 RoW S 4.7. Transmission is a "S" Auto transmission.
You should have the VIN in 2 places. In the from next to hood latch and right side of engine. Earlier cars had it stamped behind the ignition module, later cars had a notch in the fender mounting.
