Default Chris Harris - cool 928 GTS- Video

He already owns 3 928’s, all manual of course. Jump straight to the 8:25 minute mark.

Here's a link to the auction listings. Looks like an 88 S4, as well. Both the S4 and the GTS, offered at NO RESERVE. What will they bring?

Thumbing through this group tells me either RM has no idea on the value of cars, or they are wildly optimistic. Frex BWM 850i auto est $57k? Lay off the crack pipe.some of those Bently turbos are giveaway. Or - maybe I don't know the RM buyers. After-all, I'm just a bottom-feeder. Won't be bidding on any of this lot.

I've seen auctions go many directions. Interestingly, the 88 S4 is No Reserve. So is the 1995 GTS. The 1992 GTS shows estimate of 70-85 Euros.

Check the dirty engine bay on the '92 GTS. Looks like loads of of catch up maintenance needed.

I'm certain that if you purchase a 928 from any other source than from a member of this forum, it's gonna need more than catch up maintenance!

Thanks for posting this, kong. I enjoyed watching the video. Reminds me of my old Car & Driver reading days in the '80s. Many great cars there.

Thanks for posting. That was actually a fun video. What I also remember from that time was how somber the German interiors were. I still like this and I like it about the 928 as well. (Although the 928 was not on my radar at that age at all.) Whereas I can appreciate the other cars like the Mitsubishi, really there was too much going on in the cockpits for me.

Some of the Mercedes from that age still look still quite modern and to my eye, more modern than the BMWs of that era to me now. My father had a 528e that I drove quite a bit back then and really liked it. Like the 928, it was pretty heavy when moving slow. Looking at that video I realize I prefer the Mercedes from that era now. But yeah, lots of cool cars!

Kong,
Thx for posting. Great video!!

Really dig those Chris Harris videos, he’s always like a kid in a candy store. Great cars (Including that GTS) on that video!!
Usually when Harris says he wants one, he adds one to the stable.

Over on our Z/28 Board, someone dug up the Video he posted of Liking the GT3RS, but LOVING the Z/28 because of it being relatively inexpensive AND having a “PROPER” gear box. He posted on Instagram a couple months later that he pulled the trigger on one and added it to his collection.

The Dude cracks me up as you can tell he’s pretty excited here....

All of Chris Harris’s 928 have one thing in common, all manual. He should definitely do more videos on them!
