Dang those are some rare wheels. 944 tubo cup wheels if I'm not mistaken. Are you using them on a 928?

Can't quite make out the part number. Can you post them for the front and rear wheels?

Thanks,

Bryan

And what makes you think they are magnesium? To the best of my knowledge, all phone dial rims were cast aluminum.

This are rear 944 Turbo Cup rims.

They are really fragile...

References and dimensions:
Front: 951 362 116 11, 8J*16 ET 52.3
Rear: 951 362 118 10, 9J*16 ET 57.

Do you also have the front rims and do you want to use them on a 928?
Where do those rims come from?

Here is a link to a friend's site on the subject. It's in French only sorry.
He owns a 290hp Turbo Cup. It's a very nice car.
My friend wants to register the 944 TCs. If yoy know one, don't hesitate to contact him.

Regards,
Samuel

The 944 turbo cup cars in '87 and '88 had late offset magnesium phone dials in 8x16 and 9x16. All other turbo phone dials are 7x16 and 8x16, and are aluminum. So if you find a 9x16 phone dial, it's a magnesium turbo cup rim. There are a few sets of these magnesuim phone dials out there, and this gentleman appears to have a set.

They're supposed to me a little soft for street use though.

Those sure do look like the real deal to me. But then again I NEVER CLAIMED TO BE AND EXPERT AT THE 928 MODEL.

yes i use them om my 1977 928, they were fitted by the same dealer who makes 928 pick up and yes they are very fragile and light..
I only have the rear wheels and the are lighter than the front alu wheels..
i will post some pics when the wheels are done...

just to put it straight, its not because we like pickup's in Denmark, its the tax system that makes it very attractive (we pay 180% tax on cars)

here is another 928 pickup pic

We never did manage to get together for an informal copenhagen-area rennlist meeting last year (Or at least I didn't ). Seeing as the weather is quite nice right now (season considered), maybe we should try again?

Mads, is your car on the road or is it locked up for the winter? Anders, I know you're out making the streets of Cph. dangerous, so I won't even bother askinig :P Anyone else?

You're in DK weekdays only, no?

I don't have anything in particular planned in the immediate future, so name a time and a place. (My place is an option though it's some 25 minutes ... make that 10 minutes at 280kmph ... outside of Cph... )

I'm almost only in Copenhagen weekdays but usually take the train.. If we are going for a drive it could be better on the weekend since there isn't much daylight.. Hm..

I'm have plans this weekend, but how about saturday or sunday next week?
