Mark, is the steering wheel hub cover available and in good condition? Mine is cracked and at least one of the three screw holes to attach it to the steering wheel is stripped. I'm searching for a black one for #338....

Often the case with these. Good news is the stripped bosses are easily repaired w/epoxy, and the cracks (as long as pieces aren't missing) can be repaired too.
Not trying to deter a sale just suggesting not to throw out a good rare piece that can be restored.

I definitely won’t discard it. One crack has been repaired but another hasn’t. I figure an uncracked one is better if I can find one. The rear potion of this piece is also rubbing quite a bit on the recovered vinyl of the pod so I probably need to take it all apart to see if I can get more clearance between the hub and this plastic piece.

Having picked over this car, no. It needed literally everything, all the wiring and interior had been baked to smithereens and the work that had been done (the heads, for example) were unusable.
There are 3404 US market '78s and '79s out there somewhere (and 5685 ROW '78 and '79s), I think there are a lot better resto candidates that got parked because of CIS issues. And even if a car needs paint, interior and a full mechanical refresh, at least a garage find will usually have some/most usable parts. For #143 you'd have to replace almost everything, there's lower hanging fruit.
