Belly Pan, Fender and quarter skirts
My 86.5 has none of these items: Belly Pan, Fender and quarter skirts
Ive heard rumors about some of the belly pans being flimsy. Is that true? How long would a stock one last vs. an upgraded version?
Does anyone have these parts laying around and looking for an offer on them.
I dont think my car has those black plastic inner fender/Rr quarter skirts that close up the space where the side marker lights are located at either. Does the 928 have front and rears?
Forgive me for being naive, but I never owned another 928.

Your car did not come with a full belly pan - this was introduced in '87 for the S4. The only cover I've seen on the older cars is one that closes up the area before the engine. DEVEK offers a special adapter that allows you to install their belly pan on older models.
Fender liners in the rear were not always there either. 1991 was the first year with rear fender linlers on both sides. Before, there was one on - if I remember correctly - the driver side only, and there was just a cover in the right one.

Both the aftermarket aluminum and factory fiber composite (plastic) will get tore up pretty bad when you hit something. They aren't ment to act as skid plates; more for aero dynamics and noise suppression.
I was driving down the L. A. freeway yesterday, in heavy traffic, everyone going 70 MPH, when to my supprise.... an aluminum ladder approaching in the lane to my right. Then in my rear I could hear the car behind me hit it and then looking back the ladder was spinning around. Glad that wasn't me.

thanks for the replies.
Is there supposed to be a plastic inner fender skirt where the front side marker lenses are located? In other words, would you have to remove them for access to the bulbs?
How much does the belly pan reduce the overall clearance on the car?
