Default Weltmeister Spring question

I don't have any info about these springs, can anyone help? RF 21/97 RR 28/97

Any help would be great. I'm going to change the Bilsteins to Koni, just to see if I like them. I occasionally track the car.

I'm running Weltmeisters with Koni Reds on my '84. I love them It really transformed the car. Not overly stiff or bouncy - just a lot more modern feeling.

You will need a set of pre-84 upper and lower rear spring seats. See my thread here: https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...too-large.html
Luckily 928 INTL should be having their half-price sale from now through Christmas, so those should be cheap.

I think the part numbers are 928.333.522.04 and 928.33.521.02, but don't quote me. Check the parts catalog to confirm.

If you search the forum for "Weltmeister" you'll see a good bit of info. I love mine and wish they were still being made..

Thanks for the write up, definitely going to keep those springs. I'll make the call, the Koni website did mention differences between Bilsteins and Koni spring seats.
You confirmed it!

Thanks Chris

I'm rebuilding the GTS brembo brakes too, Hopping my Porsche will love the track even more.

Edward, you may want to do a little digging on some other parts as well. My car originally had the Boge adjustable coil over shock set-up. The threaded ring and collar assembly was a direct swap from the Boge shock onto the Koni reds. Then I was able to use the stock spring seats in the front and pre-84 spring seats in the rear.

I seem to recall that the threaded collar assembly on the Bilstein coil-over setup was slightly different (larger? smaller?) than the ones on the Boge, and therefore may not be a direct swap onto the Koni shocks, if you are switching to Koni's. For the front suspension, the threaded nut on the Bilstein is 928.343.565.00 while the one for Boge was 928.343.535.02, and the Boge threaded ring that slides onto the shock is 928.343.537.00.

Likewise there are differences for the rear as well. It's been YEARS since I had to do any suspension work on my 928. At one time I knew this like the back of my hand, but some of it is starting to fade a bit. But you may need to source a few extra items.

Check the 83-86 Parts Catalog and you'll see an exploded parts diagram with the parts that transfer over depending on which set-up you currently have.
