Default Thanks and a couple recommendations....

Sometimes we can be quick to point out the bad experiences we have with people we deal with, I thought I would take the opportunity to say thanks publicly to several people who have been involved in assisting me in the purchase of a 928 in CA.

First. Jim Bailey and Mark Anderson for their willingness to do what ever it took to help me. From their offer to look the car over to storing it until I could have a truck out there to pick it up. Fortunately, I did not need to take them up on their offer but it was nice to know that they were so willing to help if I needed it. Also for their recommendation about who should do the PPI. Thanks guys!

Second. Sean Bryan for being a stand up guy when he accidentally could have caused my deal to blow up. I told him what I was doing and he stood on the sidelines when he could have made a pile of money on this car. He even told one of his buyers to back off, which they did not but that is another story for another time. Sean did the same thing on another GTS I was considering in CA. I ended up backing away from that one and again, that's another story.

Thanks and a strong recommendation to Precision Motorsports in Anaheim, CA more specifically the owner Greg Moore. Greg builds race motors for Mark and came highly recommended from Jim Bailey. Jim, you were right on he is the best. Greg did the PPI and changed the t-belt and water pump. Thanks for everything he did over and above and only he and I will know what that means but my sincere thanks for EVERYTHING he and Mary did while the car was in their care.

Also, I would like to make a recommendation for anyone looking to finance a highline/sports car. I used a company called JJ Best Banc & CO. They have great rates (better than ANY bank I spoke to) and long terms when conventional loans just couldn't come close. It was my first experience with them and I will definitely be calling on them again, specifically Al Maranda. They did everything they said they were going to do and in the time frame they said they were going to do it. Very good experience.

Lastly, I shipped the car on Thomas C. Sunday. The driver packed up all the goodies that came with the car including an extra set of wheels and tires, springs, cat bypass and original rear muffler. He called me with status updates all along the way from CA. Unfortunately, he got hung up here a day longer than he originally planned because of an ice storm that made my driveway a skating rink. As it was, we had to put the tow hook in the front and pull the car with a Suburban the last 30 feet; sheer ice and big fat tires are not a good combo! The best part they were really reasonably priced too! I WILL use them again. The last two cars I shipped on Intercity were BOTH damaged in loading/unloading. The roof antenna on an 89 GT and an Audi S8 were both removed by the roof of the trailer!

Here is a pic of the car coming off the trailer!

Congrats!

Do you have any more pics off the car, the wheels look interesting!

Are they Carrera 18" from the Boxster or from the 996?

I hope you get rid of those seats covers that were on it. At least they kept the seats looking like new but I just did not care for them. Other than that I thought it was a near perfect example. Are you sure you will actually drive this one?

Unlike most banks, JJ Best doesn't care about the age of the vehicle, or even really about loan-to-value ratios. They lend on the strength of the applicant's credit history, which makes them extremely unusual and useful in today's market. They also make decisions very quickly.

Thanks guys!

I'm a lucky guy, I have an SO who LOVES 928 too!! This car is hers!

I think the wheels and tires are from a 996. Not sure and perhaps when Fed Ex delivers the records I'll be able to say for sure.

Mark, the seat covers are HISTORY! And yes, this one will get driven. Probably about 1.5-2k miles per year. She only puts about 3k miles per year on a car she drives as her sole everyday driver.

Intrinsicate,

You are correct! They make decisions VERY fast and turn money around equally as fast.

more 93 GTS pics

VERY nice!

Now I understand why on earth you would need 2 GTS's (his and hers). And, sigh, my wife wants a minivan....

Very good to see a growing shark population here!

Congratualtions Chuck.

Terrific set of cars. Hope to see you around town.

If you see an '84 Light Bronze Metallic, that'd be me.
