Speedometer in 1990 GT stopped working
So....I should know not to fiddle by now.
I replaced all the fuses in my 1990 GT.....and the speedo has stopped working. Everything else is ok. All was ok before the fiddling.
I tried putting the old fuse back in, wiggling it around - did same with fuses 25, 39, 40, 41 - difficult to tell from an internet trawl which fuse is the right one or which relay may be relevant. The printed sheet on the back of the wooden board isn't exactly clear (I did enjoy reference to "defrogging the rear screen"......ribbit).
Its a Feb 1990 delivered UK car.
Thanks
Jonathan

Revisit fuse #25 (7.5 amps) and make sure that none of your interior lighting is shorting against the chassis.

I don't think cruise control is (it was pre-fiddle). Not sure about odometer but probably not. Digital readout won't register MPG.
CORRECTION - after the in out in out shake it all about with the fuses, the speedo and odometer are back on line. Cruise control not working though.

I had same issue on my 89. You may need to take the fuse and add a very slight twist to the blades. I have found that in certain sockets replacement fuses do not always sit tight in the connector

I have added a drop of silver solder on the fuse blades and smoothed it out with the soldering iron with good results. Gives the fuse more contact area than twisting the blade.
