It seems clear to me you've already advanced to the expert level. It's not one of those certifications that shows consistent progress in the temporal dimension, you can become an expert without actually being one; yet . Expertise comes later, but intention is always in the present.

Just dreading the part hunting. Hard to find what you need on a car that is 40 year old. Myself and my husband will be doing the work on it. We are kinda motor heads. I know it is hard to not be sexist.....but it is ok...I have been doing car repairs since i was a teenager.
Some stuff (interior trim is a biggie) is difficult to find.
But the 'usual suspects' go well 'above and beyond' to secure sources for parts, or viable alternatives.
But don't bother looking at Roger's site (928s R Us). There's virtually nothing there. He sells everything, and not just for 928s. I get most of my Cayenne parts and some of my 944 stuff from him.
He hasn't gone to the effort and expense of building a site to catalog everything.
Call or e-mail. Tell him what job you are doing (clutch, TB/WP, Intake Refresh, ect) and he will tell you what you need for that particular job. He can send you a list of the parts that are needed for that job. You can pick and choose what you will replace, or simply get the 'care package' and return what you don't end up using.
If you call, make sure you have a bit of spare time. I always end up spending an extra 15 minutes or so just having a very pleasant chat about the cars. He's a helluva nice guy, who knows and loves these cars as much as just about anyone on here.

Appears to be the same color combo of our previously owned 79...Mocha with cork interior: https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...kka-79-ob.html Agree with Joe^^Roger at 928sRus is a joy to deal with and Mark Anderson of 928 International will most times have what you need for used parts. Can't stress this enough...critical to replace your fuel and power steering lines if they haven't been done recently T

Yes it looks like a mocha clone. Great color. Donna has it been repainted at some point?

Welcome! This is the right place to be; there's a wealth of knowledge and support available here. And of course, you've got the BEST year & color!
Are we sure that's mocha? It looks lighter to me, maybe more like tobacco (but not quite). Mine's been repainted an incorrect metallic shade (except the door jams, which are original paint), so I have a hard time telling for sure, but Donna's brown looks lighter than mocha. The photos look like they're in full sun, and I know the color can change a lot. Of course, Tony should know.
More photos are required, as well as interesting backstories!

Well, color can be hard to tell from pics on a screen.
And the only ones I can tell for sure are the 'greens' (I can tell Oak Green from Moss Green ).
Donna - There should be a sticker in the door jamb (driver's side) with a color code. There should also be one under the carpet in the back. It will have the options too.
You won't be able to get Rob to tell you your options from the VIN, they can only do 80 and later.

If you like the color, don't worry too much about the paint, Donna. My '82 was hit, repaired, and repainted at some point. I knew it wasn't Guards Red, but it wasn't until I had the rub strips removed and the body man matched that pain that I found out what it really is: Rosso Corsa. And if when you make it to Frenzy, ask Wayne about his Glacier Blue car.

The passengers rear quarter has been redone. Some POS uninsured teenager side swiped her in 1985. At that time she had the passengers quarter redone. Other than that the car is in stock color. Depends on how the light hits her if the brown looks dark or light. I love the color, wont be changing it,

Thanks Donna - I was wondering because it looked to me from the last picture that the black rubber beading that runs between the bumper cover and the car was also painted brown. Normally, that is a gloss black color, unpainted. Maybe yours was sprayed during the repair? Or simply a trick of the light.

I think that this is the original color....I do not have any door jamb sticker left on her. Have not checked the cargo area. I love the color it is and the only part that has been redone is the passengers quarter panel
