Talking Exhaust Tip

Well, my new auto-darkening welding helmet from Harbor Freight (on sale for $50!), works great! Maybe a little too well...

I'm torn between gagging, and actually liking it. It's kinda of got that anime' Sci-Fi look.

I couldn't find the dual tip I wanted, on a Saturday, so I took three single resonators and got over-creative.

The lower right pic shows what my original plan was. Tips pointing up to aid aerodynamics (hot air jet into the turbulence zone).

Side note: you can see the extra wide stance with my (new to me) S4 wheels and 25MM spacers.

I'm envious - don't know how to weld! But, as you do weld, consider adding a fourth tip to give a 'quad' with two per side (like the after market 993/996 units). It might look OK as you've already switched the first pair to a straight back location (from stock)???

PorKen,
You never cease to amaze me. I think the dual tip is cool, but the triple tip looks like a Gembella space machine. Power to ya all the way.

You have quite the ability to weld. How difficult would it be to turn a 3" inlet monza tip into a 3 1/2". The trick would be in welding it so that the 3 1/2" cross-sectional surface area remains no less than 3 1/2" (9.6 sq in, oval-like), as it transitions into the dual tip.

Quad tips would look cool, and not too difficult:

I'll have to make a heat-shield where it passes under the gas tank.

On welding: I have a Lincoln 110V Mig welder, with flux core wire, combined with the auto-darkening helmet, it is really easy to weld (non-structural items). Pretty much like a hot-glue gun.

I think I'll put the Fifth Element tip on my truck, instead...

Jadz928,

When I redid my 3" system, I chopped my Monza inlet off, and welded on a larger and angled inlet made from a piece of 3" pipe, cut with two ~15 degree angles to make a point. Then I pounded the points around the intersection of the resonators and welded it back together:

Porken,

The best so far was the transmission cooler. You have some good creative ideas.

Normy,
Do you mean like this? It's a Borla XR-1.

Jag är inte så smart, snarare ointelligent eller dum, men minst är jag inte Skånske!

Here's a detail shot:

I'm starting to like the 'Trident', more and more...

The quad tip is actually a little more of a challenge than I thought. The gas tank hangs down lower than the battery box so I can't go directly under it. If I go along under the bumper then the slush-box radiator won't get any cool air. Maybe, if I move the radiator over where the cutout for the stock tips is...

Hehe.. Almost correct swedish.. You only missed the last word which should be "Skåning" and the last sentence should be "...men jag är i alla fall inte Skåning!"

All the smart people in Sweden come from Skåne, but our dialect is a bit different compared to the puffs in Stockholm area..

That exhaust tip looks wild, I've never seen anything like it.
