Thank you so much. 
After we picked up the car, the pink slip I signed showed the previous owner purchased the car in 1988. I think that was the second owner and I have the receipts going back to the initial purchase.
Makes me feel better knowing it has a clean title. It's registration expired in November 2003, and I have recipts from smog checks and registrations up to that point.
I think I got lucky and got a decent car cheap. What a difference 3 hours with windex and a shop vac make!!!
