Touch free damaged my wheel well and front bumper! Appartently brushes come out from the touch free machine and they pushed in the side of my front bumper just below the turn signal. The worker told me the GT3 was to low but I wasnt expecting anything to push against the car. Memorial Day weekend so cant talk to the owner until Tuesday. Just thought people may like to know that touch free is not alway touch free.

I run my shark through the car wash 2 -3 times per week in the winter and maybe once per week in the summer. Never had an issue and the finish looks fine. It's just a car. My preferred method of drying is a silicone squeegee and then a microfiber towel to catch what doesn't get done by the squeegee. That's if I wash it by hand.

None of my 928's ever saw a car wash. They will scratch them.

Front spoiler will catch and so will the drop links on most conveyor systems. Just get your *** out of the car and wash it properly ()

Although I have never had my car machine washed, my experience with buffing the paint indicates that at least with the 1980s solid non-clear coats, like my GP White, the paint is hard as nails. I doubt a machine car wash would hurt the finish. Mine does have evidence of being in car washes before I owned it - the front swaybar links are half shaved away on the bottoms.

Hand wash only, and I live in Vegas too, and do it in my driveway like always. I wash my motorcycles in the driveway also. If code enforcement ever tried to write me a ticket, there would be major problems. I've never heard of anyone having a problem.

I have taken most of mine through once or twice when I needed a quick cleaning and didn't have time to do it by hand. I hate doing it, but sometimes it is the easiest way.

I agree. It's just a car. If I wasn't replacing a seat switch or some other FU!!#$@ other broken part, maybe I'd wash it by hand. Until then, I've only got so many hours in a day.

I don't wash my car....well ok I've washed it twice since buying it.

But seriously, during the winter my dd goes through the touchless wash (no conveyor) and it's fine. The touchless does strip wax quickly and it doesn't do a great job cleaning, a small residue does invetibly remain.

I do a gas station hands free every so often, it is a good way to check for any leaks etc. Found a little drip, cleaned out the Sun Roof drains per RL instructions, and now no problems.

Once or twice a week. I like to keep her clean but they do get dirty fast. Especially since it is a DD. It is the interior that I should do more often. It looks great when it is done but gets dirty real fast!

No, I only hand wash, but if I absolutely had to I would use a self car wash.
