Lou:
I presume that is the negative into which you will mold the positive(?).
When you are finished, please post some photos and a process description.
My dash is a mess for only a little over a grand in cost.
Now it may be time to find a replacement method, and I am intrigued to know how yours turns out.

Jeez Lou,
Staring at that photo makes me think I should keep my cracked (in 3 places) dash and pod....YIKES. If you end up being happy with the person doing the work, please recommend their shop to us here![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Otherwise, I may want to recover mine with black leather (partially). Has anyone here gone with a partial leather interior (dash pad, pod, center console, A-pillar trim)?
I can't imagine I'd want the REMAINDER of the interior trim panels to be covered in leather since I'm in sunny Florida. I once test drove a 928S (mid 80s) here in town in which ALL of the leather interior was coming undone from the interior panels...looked like someone was trying to stretch a dried out paper grocery bag over them..
!!!! Sad and hideous to see a Shark in that condition...
Best,
Tim / TUK

Do you guys understand the process of making a fiberglass part?
It's not "a mess"...
That is not the actual dash that is going to be smoothed out.
That is the mold of the original dash, that will be pulled *off* the original dash,
and then the interior of the mold will be filled with fiberglass, or cabon-fiber,
and a perfect duplicate of the *original* dash will be pulled out of the mold...
It will be really nice when it is done.
